Wasted Love

You have no more need of my services,
you can manage it on your own.
What doesn't revive us reverses us,
the damage is what gets thrown.
You don't owe me excuse or sympathy,
I can't owe it to you enough.
Then go as though it wasn't to be
what's become of a wasted love.

   I'll take your goodbyes sentimentally,
there're no other ways they'd fit.
We only control our own penalty,
love's not something we can't quit.
When you reached where you'd said you might belong,
where you now need to get out of,
it's you come through the worst what's gone wrong
that's become of a wasted love.
