Auto de Fé

I'm going to set my world on fire.

Its bridges, towers, homes and things
    as heretics must all expire.

I'm going to set my world on fire,
    ignite its purifying pyre
    in sacrificial offerings.

I'm going to set my world on fire,
    - its bridges, towers, homes and things -
    to glorify creation's word.

I'm going to set my world on fire,
    through holocaust my stigma cured.

    To glorify creation's word,
may flesh be purged, may sin be heard,
my own heart blazing ever higher.

    To glorify creation's word,
I'm going to set my world on fire.

Repeating refrain added intensity to the poem…well contructed poem.

Glad to see you on PA this week. I’m a fan of the webs you weave and glad you’re back, however creeepingly. 🙂 ~Colette D
