Tangled Timing

Not a friendly word present, pages blank and lonely——
          If only!   If only!
Bare lines sought tenants with lives they might add.
          I had!   I had!
So then why aren't my metaphors ripe to their prime?
          More time!   More time!

*shrug* What I've no words for, I'll just have to mime.

When the window's left open, the rain gets things wet.
I'm not practiced enough to have learned that one yet.
If only I had more time!
If only I had more time!
