Being Here

Being here's all I think to do, no new clothes
for stepping back into, thrift store pickings
stained in ways I don't remember being, except

I've been put back into circulation, washed up
to present to a customer with pride in her eye
and a working understanding of stretching out

a need through its thin tears into a new patch
over the night that will shine like Christmas
there, being there when it was all being done.
